Welcome The new Superfast Ferries Zeebrugge to Edinburgh (Rosyth) service provides Scotland with its first ever commercial ferry link to the Low Countries of Europe. The Scottish Executive is committed to developing and expanding our many and varied links with the regions and countries of Europe.

The cultural and commercial ties binding Scotland, Belgium, Holland, France and Germany stretch back to the middle ages, with the North Sea serving as a channel for goods and people, language and ideas. The launch of the Superfast ferry service in May 2002 marked a fresh chapter in this centuries-old relationship. For visitors and businesses across Northern Europe, Scotland has never been closer. The new ferry service will serve to further develop these links of tourism, trade and friendship.
